Frequently Asked Questions
Understanding the benefits of epoxy flooring is an important aspect of what we offer.
Our products and services are designed to help you maintain your new floors.
Why should I choose epoxy flooring?
Epoxy Flooring is an easy to clean, durable, UV stable coating that seals the concrete dust and looks great. Get rid of your dirty, tired looking concrete and replace it with our epoxy flooring range to bring life back to your floors. It is suitable for garages, around your house, factories, warehouses, service centres, commercial kitchens and much more!
My Concrete has cracks, will the epoxy fill them in?
As part of our process, we repair any cracks and hips in your concrete. We use a high strength epoxy mortar mix to fill these in, ensuring you have a brand new looking floor upon completion.
What is the process and how long does it take?
We offer a number of different finishes and each one varies slightly, however they are all prepped the same.
We start off by using dust free diamong grinding to clean up the slab and prepare it for coating. We then install an epoxy resin prime coat to seal the subtrate and ensure the floor is stuck down well. Post priming we repair all cracks and chips, and then start the coating process, depending on what finish you have chosen. Time to complete works varies between 3 & 5 days.
Will my epoxy flooring peel with hot tyres?
No, our products are resitant to hot tyre pickup, even after parking your car straight on our floors after a very long drive. We use the same product in service centres as we do in your garage, and that is why we can guarantee our floors.
Do you offer a warranty with your floors?
Yes, we offer a 5 year guarantee on all our floors, however that is not to say that in 5 years and 1 day the floor will fail. If properly maintained, our floors are designed to last well over 10 years.
How thick is your floor coatings
Depending on the finish you have chosen, our floors coatings vary in thickness from 1.5mm to 4mm. Once fully cured, our products offer close to 90MPa in strength. Thats nearly 3 times more than concrete!
How often do I have to recoat my floors.
To help increase the life of your floors, we recommend a light sand, and fresh clear top coat be installed every 8 to 10 years.
Will my floor yellow in time?
No, even though epoxy flooring is not UV stable, our top coat is a 2 part Poly Aspartic resin that is 100% UV stable, offers scratch resitance and is available in a high gloss, satin and matte finish.
How many coats do you install?
The amount of coats we install depends on the finish chosen, however the minimum we offer is a 3 coat system, which is why we can comfortably guarantee our floors for 5 years.
